I am such a huge fan of Idina Menzel. Like, huge. So I thought “what if I mashed up Let It Go and Defying Gravity?” And that’s what I did. They’re in complimenting keys, so a lot of hard work was saved by me not having to transpose anything. Granted, I broke some music theory rules about chord progressions and all that, but honestly, I think it sounds pretty cool so it’s all good. I think the name for an Elsa/Elphaba crossover is Elsaba, so this is me being Elsaba I guess. 🙂
Everything you hear is my voice. I thought about accompanying myself on piano, but I thought it’d be much cooler if I also sang the background music. So I did. And at the end, I left the “diva notes” unaccompanied because I think big belts like that can speak for themselves. The recording quality isn’t the best because it’s done on my laptop (with Garageband—I know) but I tried really hard to polish it up.
