Andraste and Flemeth…
Okay aside from the new trailer the Dragon Age Inquisition Website has been updated. This include a big interactive map of Thedas that’s connected to a timeline. Lovely stuff for lore junkies.
The fiiiirst thing I noticed though was this:
Highlighted there is a banner stuck down in the Korcari Wilds. I naturally assumed it would be some obscure lore about Flemeth or something vague about the witch of the wilds.
Then I clicked on it and:
Huh. That’s weird. Andraste introduced the maker near the wilds just south of Ostagar? Well let’s read about it and see what it says.
Oh okay well that’s not muuuuuuwaitaminute Andraste looks kinda familiar lets get a bigger version of that image
huh. Yeaaaaaah.
Yeah.
Yeah i’m like 90% sure that’s Flemeth.
HOLY FUCK
Anders could be right, Andraste could have been a mage.
That mage could have been Flemeth!!

lady inquisitors who dress for practicality and never gave a damn about fashion falling in love with vivienne
maybe starting off with a simple ribbon in their hair. vivienne doesn’t notice, but varric does and pats her on the back and says knowingly ‘it looks nice on you, inquisitor’
inquisitor clumsily tries to make her nails look cleaner and her cubicles neater in the dead of night in her tent
the inquisitor looming intimidatingly over a merchant, only to say ‘do you have any make-up that is easy to apply and endurable’
the inquisitor being nervous and trying to subtly ask vivienne what her favorite color is
the inquisitor leaning over to hear what some orlesian noblewoman chatting nearby about the newest fashions in court are saying
the inquisitor finally just going up to cassandra and asks her ‘you…are a princess, right?’
cassandra rolls her eyes and tells her about an orlesian armor boutique she heard of nearby
vivienne seeing the inquisitor in the outfit she bought there and saying: “you could use more accessories, but I think you cut a nice figure.”
the inquisitor knocks heads with a smile and maybe too much joy for the rest of the week

To Vivienne, there are no impractical clothes, only impractical people. Her magnificent attire is a sign of her station, the jewel of the high court of Orlais where wealth, power, and beauty are inextricably linked.
A thousand arrows would pierce her breast before Vivienne would don beaten steel for so base an urge as protection. If one must wear armor, then have it flatter the form. Hide it beneath fine fabrics more becoming of one’s status, for steel alone will not protect you from the barbed tongues of Orlais.
To dress for comfort or purpose is a scandal—fashion and splendor are all that matter to Vivienne. Shower yourself in gold, let only the finest silks grace your skin, and wear a king’s ransom in pearls and silver upon your feet. Leave the stained tunics and rough cloaks to the commoners and their mud farms–a proper Orlesian climbs mountains in her evening gown, standing taller at the summit in her formidable high-heeled shoes.
