Tracking was likely changed the way it was due to data and server issues, so they removed it until those things can be sorted. Also, a programmer friend of mine told me that cheating utilities and websites like pokevision can open up security issues, and they don’t solve the core problem anyway. The battery saver function on the iOS version, iirc, was removed because it was causing a lot of crashes and thus was doing more harm than good. Other things caused in the update like catch/flee rate could easily just be bugs that aren’t supposed to happen. (And the curving without prompt thing has always happened to me, tbh; it’s annoying as hell.)
I could be wrong on some of this, but either way, please calm down. It’s frustrating, I know, but in the meantime at least the app is more stable, and honestly I’d rather have that than have all the nifty features I love while dealing with a bunch of other problems. Hopefully the upcoming updates will fix things up, at the very least partially.
(and I, for one, am rather happy that I no longer have to scroll all the way down a laggy info screen just to transfer my spare pokes for candy.)
About the battery saver:
It was removed because it didn’t work. iPhones have LCD screens. Which a means power consumption isn’t lowered by making it all black with a simple logo. The trade off? Pokemon go now functions using background refresh. Egg hatchers will be happy to hear this as this now means as long as the phone is on and not locked, it’s still counting steps/distance travelled even if you navigate away from Pokemon go. It won’t notify you of nearby Pokemon like the battery saver however.
Battery saver likely won’t be coming back for iOS users because it never worked in the first place.
Yeah, on top of that, I’m 905 sure everyone is playing up the spawn rate issue since they made it so that Pidgeys and Rattatas aren’t literally everywhere.
And the catch and flee rates don’t actually feel like they’ve changed (although they DID improve the UI for throwing Pokeballs, as they curve MUCH less easily now, which is good). They also didn’t actually point out in the update notes that they were changing the Pokemon catch rates, just the UI, so that’s yet another reason why that’s probably not actually a proper change they made.
Everything else? Flat-out did not work, so they yanked them to either fix them or to get rid of a feature which didn’t work in the first place.
Contrary to what you might think, Niantic does actually know what they’re doing. Their major issue is that they’re only staffed by 20 or so people, so they’re working as hard as they can, but you have to be patient with them. Don’t jump down their throats when they’re trying iron out the rough patches in the game, please. It’s still a wonderful, fantastic game. They’re working on it, just be patient for a bit while they work on things.

what she means: I don’t understand the widespread interpretation of Ross Gellar’s character on Friends. The group consists of six stereotypes; the sensitive guy, the player, the comic relief, the rich girl, the hippie, and the control freak. Ross’ character is obviously the sensitive guy, but he seems to be completely incapable of experiencing the full range of human emotion. His character regularly experiences jealousy, narcissism, and apathy, and maintains a borderline abusive mentality. This is perfectly exhibited in his inability to show empathy for the friend group. For example, the notorious Thanksgiving episode. Monica is rushing to make an entire dinner for six people by herself. She adds more and more dishes to the dinner as she tries to please her friends, and all Ross does is add more chores to her already growing list. He emotionally manipulates his sister just because he wants a certain kind of potatoes with no regard to the stress he puts on her. Of course, Phoebe requests a special dish as well, but only out of love for her mother, as she is later shown to be strongly against such behavior. Ross does this to the people he holds dearest whenever he wants, never taking his friends’ feelings into consideration. Another selfish habit of his is treating his friends is forcing them to be safety blankets for him. He bombards them with overdramatic, petty emotional loads, invading their privacy without a care for their personal priorities and using for personal gain. This might be forgivable if he gave a thought to his friends when they had issues, but he continues to be uninterested in the problems of the group. This is a prime example of psychological manipulation. Another example of his inability to feel towards others is the episode with “the break”. Ross grows increasingly jealous of Rachel and her coworker, even though it is obvious she is not attracted to him, and accuses her of an affair after harassing her at her job. Rachel suggests they “take a break” from their relationship, and Ross immediately goes out and sleeps with another woman. He then continues to believe he deserves to be forgiven and believes Rachel to be unreasonable for not taking him back, among other things. Ross is never interested in his friends’ hobbies, hurt feelings, problems, or personal lives, to go so far as to call them shallow for the things they find pleasure in, meanwhile considering everyone uninterested in paleontology unintelligent. There are specific moments where he puts the well-being of others in front of his own, but he only does this in situations where he has something to gain. He helps his friends for nothing in return only if he sees a possible way to benefit from the transaction. Ross’ character is not punished for his actions and his narcissistic way of life is never chastised or looked down upon. This it is illogical for Ross to occupy the sensitive guy archetype. The word “sensitive” implies a person perceptive to emotion. A person capable of living through emotions, both their own and other’s, and feeling them passionately. Ross does not align with this definition as he is not perceptive to emotions other than his own. His character is explained as a “nice guy” throughout the entire series, as if he is just in his ways just because he doesn’t identify with mainstream masculinity. This is a grossly incorrect interpretation of the character and, in all honesty, a dangerous definition of the word “nice”.

She’s handling it like an adult and yet she still gets bashed. Let me lay down some facts about Taylor Swift.
-She’s been named the most charitable celebrity 3 years running. Not Oprah, Bill Gates, or anyone with way more money. She donated the most in 2012,13, and 14. -Just last week she donated $50,000 to a girl fighting cancer. She donated so much that GoFundMe had to raise their donation limits. -She routinely visits sick children in the hospital, and the only footage you’ll find of it is from the family members who recorded it, because she never publicizes it. She also gives them a ton of gifts and personally sings to them. -She comments back on Instagram and tumblr with words of advice for fans who are feeling low. Not just a sentence, but paragraphs of well thought-out advice. -She got personal gifts for many fans on tumblr, sending huge boxes out at Christmas time. They were filled with not only gifts, but handwritten letters for each individual. -She handpicked fans that she had literally stalked over social media to come to her home to listen to her album a month before it released. She met with each individual fan and took pictures and talked to them. She also made homemade cookies for everyone.
So yeah, tell me how she thinks the world revolves around her. Show me another artist doing half as much as she does. She misconstrues one tweet and suddenly she’s the devil himself.
Does she benefit from white privilege? Yes, a great amount. Does she know that? Possibly. Should we try to educate her on the subject? YES! Should we chastise her and make rude comments because it’s the cool, “in” thing? No! It’s disrespectful, and frankly not helping the situation at all. Education is the cure for ignorance, so maybe try to explain what Nicki had actually meant, and then we could all grow and move on.

I guess so since obviously Tumblr continuouslyasks for complex characters, yet bitches about them whenever they get one. So let me set this straight for everyone who seems to be confused.
So let’s start by cutting to the chase before I poke holes in your argument. I’m not saying that pearls actions are okay – you’re right for saying that she’s wrong. What I am saying is that she doesn’t deserve to receive the amount of hate and dislike that she does for something she cant really help. Pearl was created by Rebecca Sugar to help people understand mental illnesses and self worth – not for people to hate. And this has flown right over everyone’s head and so far failed to get it’s point across, because ya’ll are too ignorant to see it.
Now seeing as you sent this to me, I’m going to make the assumption that you do not have and/or deal with any mental illnesses such as PTSD. and also going off of this assumption, I’m going to assume that you have no idea what PTSD can cause. So I’ll list a few examples since in order to get y’all to understand, I need to start at the basics that Tumblr always seem to over look.
So how exactly did Pearl develop PSTD you ask? Simple. The rebellion/gem war that Pearl talks about and has flashbacks about nearly every time that Rose is mentioned in front of her. Notice how under the causes of PSTD in the source, it says that War is one of the reasons why people develop the illness.
And to add along to it, the sudden lossof a loved one can also bring on PTSD. So if you doubt that the war effected her, you can’t say that loosing Rose didn’t. And I can hear the argument to this now. ‘9 months isnt sudden’. Um. Yeah, it actually is. To an alien that is 6,000+ years old in canon; 9 months is literally a blink of an eye and a very short span of time to loose someone that you’ve been with for well over that.
As someone who suffers from, and has been diagnosed with several mental illnesses, I can confirm that a lot of the time I don’t realize what I’m doing to other people. Now this doesn’t make people’s actions okay – but it doesn’t mean you can hate them for something they can’t control.
It would be an issue if Pearl knew what she was doing and how she was hurting people; but she doesn’t.
If you notice Pearl’s expression after Amethyst and Garnet form Sugilite in the newest episode (A Cry for Help); you can see how terrified she looks. She’s clutching her abdomen and staring wide-eyed at the tower’s being destroyed. This is because she’s realizing what she’s done and that she’s hurt Garnet when that wasn’t her true intention at all. She only wanted to be with her and feel like she was needed.
Pearl is mentally ill and she has severe self-worth issues which was also expressed in ‘Sworn to the Sword’ both when she’s teaching Connie and when she’s singing Do it for Him/Her. She needs help, and like most people, she cannot and/or will not ask for it. Her actions need to ask for her. Self worth is a big issue in today’s world, and usually is dismissed or overlooked.
And that’s why this episode’s name is ‘A Cry for Help’. It’s not a reference to Peridot who is actually trying to get help, but rather Pearl who has subsequently expressed several times now that she needs it, but won’t ask. Pearl is crying out for help.
So what was Pearl’s true intention? Simple. She wanted to feel like she was something. She wanted to feel wanted and powerful. She wanted Garnet to make her feel like Rose made her feel. And is that such a bad want? Is it so bad to want feel like you’re worth something? No. It’s not. It’s something we all crave. It’s a very human quality, and that’s why so many people hate it.
And Pearl’s self-worth issues route from where, exactly? From back on Home World. Many other people such as perdituus have already explained their Headcannon’s about what Pearl’s are back on Home World, and I’m going to piggy-back off of it.
I’m assuming that Pearl’s are cheaply made and mass produced gems. They’re probably mass produced as labor gems such as servants or maintenance gems which were most likely replaced by Peridot’s in later years after the rebellion. And that’s pretty much as low as you can get if you’re that disposable. And for Pearl to be a potentially ‘Lost Defective Pearl’ as Jasper called her, that puts her even lower than even her fellow Pearl’s.
So right out of the gate, Pearl was already told she was basically worth nothing. Pearl stated she was a few thousand years old before she started to fight beside Rose Quartz; so that tells me that she suffered with this by herself for well over 1,000 years.
This is only further supported by what Amethyst said in tonight’s episode (A Cry for Help), because she was trying to defend Pearl. Amethyst understood exactly how Pearl felt – as she has self-worth issues herself. It’s so hard for Garnet to understand and forgive her for, because Garnet does not have self-worth issues. So loves herself. She’s made of love and does not loathe herself. She loves being who she is and would do whatever she needed to do to stay fused. Whereas Pearl and Amethyst would do anything they could to not be themselves. Which is why Pearl was so obsessed with being Sardonyx, and why Amethyst got so carried away being Sugilite in ‘Coach Steven’.
Also commenting on your ‘forceful fusion’ portion. Pearl never forced anyone to fuse with her. In fact she’s rather uncomfortable being fused as Opal and Alexandrite. All of her fusions were entirely consensual. Yes, she manipulated the situation for Garnet to fuse, but she didn’t force her. She didn’t force Rose to fuse with her in ‘We Need to Talk’, either. Rose was more than happy to form Rainbow Quartz with her.
And while it isn’t Garnet’s fault that it’s how Amethyst and Pearl feel, it is her responsibility as their leader to try to understand. They’re her teammates, and she needs to understand them in order to trust and guide them. They’ll continue to be a weak and directionless team without Rose if she can’t do this for them.
And the whole thing about Pearl using Rainbow Quartz to get back at Greg has already been defended by many users; so I’m not going to go in depth on it. Basically you’re getting mad at her for being jealous – which is a sin all humans possess. That’s literally what you’re getting mad at. Yes. It was wrong. But can you honestly say that you yourself haven’t acted selfishly out of jealousy? Probably not. I have. Everyone I know has.
All you guys are hating her for is being a human character. She has mental illness’s, and she is very expressive with her emotions. And this is why people hate her. She’s too real. Too real that people can’t handle her and they’re failing to understand and ‘missing the point of the entire show’, as Ian JQ said in a Twitter post a while back.
