Pirate/Mermaid AU

Amethyst Cadash was certain of three things; Merpeople weren’t suppose to exist, they certainly shouldn’t have horns, and that lore stated they were like the magpies of the sea. Two things were proven wrong as she tried to wrestle a golden grown from the huge merman below the surface, and another seemed to be proven right.

Her vision was starting to darken as she continued to try and get the crown from him. She had been underwater for too long without air when she felt lips against hers. She felt air being pushed into her mouth from her opponent before he pulled the crown, and by extension, her, up to the surface. Once her head broke past the surface and she gasped for air, he took the opportunity to tug the prize out of her hands and back up.

“Maybe next time, beautiful.”

He winked, or for as she could tell blinked, at her before disappearing back under the surface with his shiny prize.
